What a trade made

How to see a trade's result in Activity, each account's share of it, and what is still open, on a desktop and a phone.

A trade is every signal that carried one trade tag: the signal that opened it, any that added to it, and the one that closed it. The tag is in the corner of each signal's card in Activity, such as #L055.

On the card

When a signal flattened the trade, its tag shows what the trade made across all your accounts, after fees where your broker reports them. A figure marked * is partly before fees. For a few seconds after the flatten the tag shows a grey block instead, while your broker reports the closing fills.

Open that card, and each account shows its own result where it said filled.

The whole trade

Press the tag on any of the trade's cards. On a desktop the trade opens in the middle of the page, and on a phone at the bottom of the screen, so you stay on the page you were watching. It shows:

  • RESULT: the total, the fees, how many accounts won and lost, the contracts traded and how long the trade lasted. While the trade is still open, OPEN NOW takes its place, with what the open positions are worth right now and what is already REALIZED.

  • EACH ACCOUNT: what each account made, with its entry and exit price, how long it held the position and its fees. While the trade is still open, the accounts that have closed are under CLOSED.

  • STILL OPEN: the positions the trade still holds, including any a flatten could not close. A practice account has no live price, so its position shows no live price.

  • DID NOT GO IN: accounts that got the signal but did not trade it, and why.

  • SIGNALS: the trade's signals, oldest first.

Open in Journal shows the same trade in the Journal, among all your others. Signal history shows its signals as they arrived.

Some brokers never report their fees. When the Journal and Automation differ explains how a trade with no fee is counted.
