Test a signal

Fire a signal by hand from the test center on a desktop or a phone, and what a test does on a broker connection and on Simulated.

The test center fires a signal by hand, so you can watch your accounts follow it without TradingView. Your service must be Running.

Open the test center

  • On a desktop, press Test… on a signal, or ⋮ and then Test center. It opens at the top of the right-hand column. If you hid that column, show it with the handle on its edge.

  • On a phone, press Test… on a signal, or ⋮ at the top of Automation and then Test center….

The test center: pick a signal, then LONG, SHORT or FLATTEN

Fire a test

  1. On the Signal tab, pick the signal to test. Only signals that are on at least one account are listed.

  2. Check Will act:. It names every switched-on account the test will trade, and at what size.

  3. For a take profit and stop loss, switch on Attach take profit / stop loss and fill them in. pts, ticks and $ are distances from the fill, and price is a level. A signal with Dynamic TP and SL shows the two fields without the switch.

  4. On a desktop, press LONG or SHORT. On a phone, press BUY or SELL. The button spins until the service has the signal, and the time you pressed it shows under the buttons.

  5. When you are done, press FLATTEN to close what the signal holds on those accounts.

A test is a signal for 1 contract, so each account trades it at its own size, 2 at ×2: Sizing: multiply or fixed. The result shows in Activity and the open positions.

The test trades like a strategy that buys or sells 1 contract at a time. From long 2, SHORT (SELL on a phone) leaves you long 1, and a second press takes you flat. From flat, it opens a short. The line under the buttons says where the test stands after each press.

A test is a real signal

  • On a broker connection, a test places a real order at your broker, on every account under Will act:. To practise, use a Simulated connection: Practise with simulated accounts.

  • It meets the same checks as any signal, and can be skipped for the same reasons: Why an order was not placed. If your broker rejects it, the service closes the position and switches that agent off, as it would for a signal from TradingView.

  • A signal with Dynamic TP and SL trades only with its levels. LONG and SHORT (BUY and SELL on a phone) stay greyed out until you fill in both a take profit and a stop loss.

  • A test of a broadcaster's signal trades only your own accounts.

Simulated fills

On a Simulated connection, a test fills at a random price, so it wins or loses like a real trade. A take profit or stop loss sits at its level but never fills, as there is no live price behind it: close the trade with FLATTEN.

The other tab

Leader (Manual (leader) on a phone) trades one contract by hand on a leader account of yours, and its followers copy it: Copy trade from a leader account.
