Does TradingView have to stay open?
No. Once an alert is created, TradingView sends it when its condition is met, whether or not your chart, your browser tab or the TradingView app is open. Your service doesn't need your browser either, so you can close everything and switch your computer off.
What does matter is the alert itself. An alert that is paused, or that TradingView has let expire, sends nothing. Check its state in TradingView's list of alerts.
What does my TradingView account need?
A plan that sends webhook alerts, and two-factor authentication switched on. These are TradingView's own rules: Set up a TradingView alert.
Market or limit orders?
The service trades with market orders, for entries and exits alike. There is no setting to make them limit orders.
An indicator signal's entry goes out with a take profit and a stop loss, and those wait at your broker as orders of their own until one of them closes the trade: Strategies and indicators. A strategy signal leaves when your strategy sends its exit.
Can I change the alert message?
Paste the Message exactly as you copied it from the signal's page. The parts in double braces are filled in by TradingView each time the alert fires, and the rest has to stay as it is.
You don't need to add an exit or a flatten command. A strategy's alert already says what position it holds after each trade, so its exits come by themselves. To close a position yourself, flatten it in Automation: Flatten and stop agents.
If you rename the signal, or change an indicator signal's settings, its Message changes too. Copy the new one into the alert.
One chart for several accounts?
Yes. One alert serves every account the signal is on: Put a signal on an account.
