The status beside a connection's name says whether it is signed in. While it isn't connected, its accounts are not traded, and signals that arrive are not saved for later. An agent that got one can end up switched off: press Turn back on under Needs attention.
What each status means
connected: signed in.
connecting… or reconnecting…: signing in, or back in after a drop. Give it a minute.
auth failed — check credentials: the broker refused the login. Sign in again, below. On Rithmic, a wrong system or gateway looks the same: Rithmic systems and gateways.
waiting for the exchange: the exchange is shut, below.
disabled: switched off, below.
service off: your service isn't running: Start and stop your service.
no live data: nothing reported yet. Give it a minute.
The desktop's left column shortens two of them, to auth failed and exchange shut.
Sign in again
A connection that won't sign in shows under Needs attention. Press Sign in again there, or on the connection's page on a phone, check the Username, enter the Password and press Save. It signs in with them at once. You can also change the login at any time under Sign-in in Connection settings.
If the form says your service isn't ready yet, start it and give it a minute. If it is still refused, check the login in your broker's own platform.
After your service comes back on a new IP address, it needs your broker passwords again. Its broker connections show disabled until you enter each password under Sign-in.
When the exchange is shut
Futures are shut every weekday from 17:00 to 18:00 New York time, and from Friday 17:00 to Sunday 18:00. Rithmic refuses every login then. Nothing needs doing: it signs in by itself once the exchange has reopened, sometimes a few minutes later.
A disabled connection
A disabled connection stays off, even when the service restarts, until you enable it. On a phone, open it, press the cog and Enable connection. On a desktop, open it and press Enable. Disabling leaves open positions at your broker unmanaged, so the sheet offers Flatten first… when there are any.
A login used on another service
Each login can be added once per service. If another of your services already signs in with it, adding it shows That login is already in use. Two services on one login sign each other out, and whichever loses stops trading, so press Add it anyway only if you mean it.
