Most prop firms forbid holding both sides of a market at once, even across your accounts. Anti-hedging stops the service opening a position that would do that, so that one mistake can't hedge you. It is set for each connection and covers all of that connection's accounts.
What it refuses
When a signal would open a position opposite one the connection already holds, on any of its accounts, that account skips the signal. Nothing is sent to your broker, and Activity shows would hedge for it.
It never refuses a close or a reduction, since those can't create a hedge.
In one account, a sell against a long is a reversal, not a hedge.
One signal turning several accounts round together is not a hedge either.
Two connections never block each other.
If a strategy reverses and anti-hedging refuses the new side, the account goes flat instead of staying on the old one.
The four settings
Off: nothing is blocked. Choose it only if your firm allows a hedged book.
Contract: blocks the opposite side of the same contract, such as long MNQ on one account and short MNQ on another. Long NQ against short MNQ still goes through.
Product, the default: also blocks the mini against the micro, such as NQ against MNQ, or ES against MES. Long NQ and short MNQ is one hedged position in two symbols.
Correlated: also blocks products that move together: the stock indices NQ, ES, YM and RTY; the metals GC, SI and HG; the energies CL and NG; the currencies 6E, 6B, 6A and 6J; the rates ZB, ZN, ZF and ZT; and crypto, BTC and ETH. Their micros count with them. It is the strictest setting, and it will refuse trades your firm might allow.
Change it
Open the connection. On a desktop, press Settings. On a phone, press the cog, then Connection settings.
Under Anti-hedging, press a setting. The text under the buttons says what it blocks.
Press Save. It applies straight away, without a restart.
A connection with anti-hedging on is marked ANTI-HEDGE on its card and its page. With Off, the mark goes.
