A connection is one broker login. Once it has signed in, its accounts appear under it, each carrying its own agents and limits. Add as many connections as you like: there is no limit. The Matrix has + Add a connection too, at the bottom of the board, and + Add connection in its top-left corner.
Before you start
Start your service and give it a minute. Until it is ready, the form can't take a broker password.
Check that you can connect your broker: Supported brokers and prop firms.
Your broker password is encrypted before it leaves your browser, and ClearEdge never sees it.
Add a connection
Open Automation. On a desktop, choose Connections at the top of the left column and press + Add connection. On a phone, open the Connections tab and press + Add a connection.
If the form asks Which account should ClearEdge trade?, press A prop firm account I have.
Under Broker, pick Tradovate, TopstepX, Rithmic or Simulated.
Fill in Name this connection.
For Rithmic, choose your firm and a gateway under System · gateway. Rithmic systems and gateways explains both.
Leave Environment on Demo. Live is not switched on yet.
Under Login, enter your broker Username and Password.
Press ADD CONNECTION. If something is missing, each empty field turns red with what it wants, and Still needed: above the button lists them.
Simulated asks for no login. It holds practice accounts instead: Practise with simulated accounts.
Under the brokers, a line names prop firms where our discount codes make your next account cheaper. See deals opens them in a new tab, so the form stays as you left it.
No prop firm account yet
At Which account should ClearEdge trade?, press A new prop firm account. It lists the prop firms where our discount codes make an account cheaper. Press a code to copy it, or a firm's name to open its site in a new tab. Once you have bought an account, press I bought one: connect it and fill in the form as above. A practice account opens the form with Simulated chosen.
After you add it
The status beside its name goes from connecting… to connected, and your accounts at the broker appear under it. To name them, or to bring in one you have just bought, see Your accounts. Then put your signals on them: Put a signal on an account.
If it doesn't get to connected, When a connection won't connect goes through every status and what to do.
Each login can be added once per service. If another of your services already signs in with it, the form asks before it adds it.
Change or remove it
Open the connection, then press Settings on a desktop, or the cog and Connection settings on a phone. There you can:
rename the connection;
change its username or password under Sign-in;
choose how strictly it refuses opposite positions, under Anti-hedging;
press Remove this connection…. The agents on its accounts are deleted with it, and anything they hold stays open at your broker, so flatten first if you want out.
